ABOUT US and HOW WE WORK

We work on land with significant conservation values, often involving multi-year programs. Actions are practical and integrated with other land uses. They are developed collaboratively and are based on genuine, respectful relationships with landholders, custodians and managers.

WHY WE DO IT

We design and implement practical, on-ground conservation programs on land where the title is owned privately, or by companies and other organisations. Conservation Partners does not own land titles.

By working with existing title holders, we can direct all of our resources into on-ground actions rather than property acquisitions. Supporting title holders by developing, funding and implementing practical conservation actions in a powerful conservation tool.

The key features of our approach are:

• We are guided by existing recovery plans where possible.
• We fill knowledge gaps and monitor the response to our actions using good science. This ensures we are on the right track.
• Actions are co-designed with title holders and property managers. They can mesh their involvement with conservation work with their other priorities. In some cases, title holders or associated people are employed by Conservation Partners.
• We sometimes partner with other non-profit organisations, and liaise with state and federal agencies.
• We commit to supporting projects over long terms

OUR CREDENTIALS

Conservation Partners builds on the success of Artemis Nature Fund Inc. Artemis Nature Fund was established to reverse the decline of Golden-shouldered Parrots on the beef cattle farm “Artemis Station” Queensland, Australia.

Working daily alongside the landowners, the Artemis program implements a suite of aggressive and innovative land management actions informed by science. Its success is down to the collection of passionate people working hard and smart while being respectful of the alternate values of the country.

Conservation Partners now takes the Artemis model to a national platform across a diversity of land tenures. Our strength is integrating practical conservation and strong science.
